Central Michigan University President Neil MacKinnon will deliver his 2026 State of the University Address at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium.

The event is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and community members. For those unable to attend in person, a live broadcast of the event also will be available via livestream.

The address will provide an update on where CMU stands on several initiatives designed to meet its mission of student and alumni success and positive community impact. The president will also lay out a vision for the university’s future.

“I am proud of the progress we are making together and believe there is much more we can accomplish when we focus on student success, innovation and change, and creating a culture of care,” MacKinnon wrote in a message to the CMU community earlier this month.

As part of his presentation, MacKinnon will be joined on stage by a student, a staff member and a faculty member who will share their perspectives on important issues at CMU.

The State of the University Address will be followed by a reception in Warriner Hall’s second-floor atrium.
