Mary Hill, vice president of Finance and Administrative Services at Central Michigan University, today announced the search for the university’s next associate vice president of facilities management. Earlier this week, current AVP Jonathan Webb announced his plans to retire in March.

The associate vice president of facilities management provides leadership, strategic direction and administrative oversight of the facilities management department. This includes campus planning, project design and construction, custodial service and landscape operations, campus operations and maintenance, the Central Energy Facility, and more. The AVP manages a team of approximately 175 staff, a budget of around $32 million, and a capital construction program of roughly $180 million.

Julie Montross, associate vice president and controller of Financial Services and Reporting, will chair the search committee. The other committee members are:

  • Mitchel Hartman, administrative assistant to the vice president of Finance and Administrative Services
  • Erica Johnson, associate vice president, Student Affairs
  • Tim Otteman, department chair and faculty member, Recreation, Parks & Leisure Services Administration
  • Jesse Reed, supervisor, HVAC, refrigeration and controls
  • Manuel Rupe, senior associate dean of administrative and legal affairs, Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine at Central Michigan University
  • Michael Walton, executive director, facilities management operations
  • Cameron Wassman, chief, CMU Police Department
  • Greg Zimmerman, associate dean, The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions

Cali Clark, director of employment and compensation, and Allie Strong, senior HR consultant and workers’ compensation administrator, will represent CMU’s Human Resources team. The position is posted on the CMU Careers webpage, and the search will remain open until the position is filled, Hill said.
