Contact: Dan Digmann

There’s a great story behind the people featured in “Humans of New York.”

It’s the story of Brandon Stanton, the photographer who founded the acclaimed street portrait blCentral Michigan University Speaker Series.jpgog.

Stanton will kick off the CMU Speaker Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, with a free presentation in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium.

On stage, he candidly shares his personal story and the perspectives he gained while helping others to tell theirs.

Stanton has emerged as a worldwide internet phenomenon and is one of today’s most influential storytellers. His work has spawned two best-selling books, “Humans of New York,” which spent 45 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list, and “Humans of New York: Stories,” released in 2015.
