CMU Professor Dr. Stephen Juris Wins Prestigious ACS Teaching Award
Dr. Stephen Juris, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Central Michigan University, has been named the recipient of the Outstanding College Level Science Teaching Award by the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
The award honors exceptional college-level educators in chemistry across Bay, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw Counties. Dr. Juris was selected for his outstanding contributions to science education and his dedication to student success in the classroom.
“I’m honored to have been recognized by the Midland Section of the ACS among the many incredible college chemistry professors in the region,” Dr. Juris said.
As part of the recognition, Dr. Juris will receive a commemorative plaque at the annual ACS Recognition Banquet.
Each year, the ACS Midland Section presents awards to recognize excellence and achievement in the chemical sciences, with nominations reviewed by the section’s Awards Committee. The Outstanding College Level Science Teaching Award highlights educators who demonstrate extraordinary commitment and impact through their teaching.
