Tim Otteman, faculty member and Chair of the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services Administration at Central Michigan University, expressed deep gratitude when asked about the achievement. “To be recognized by an international group of your peers is the highest honor,” says Otteman. “To win a Pinnacle first time in 2019 was awesome, but to be recognized with a Gold Pinnacle for seven consecutive years as the Best Event Management Bachelor’s Degree is phenomenal! So proud of our students, faculty and staff in the hallowed halls of Finch!”

The IFEA Pinnacle Awards Competition recognizes outstanding accomplishments and top quality creative, promotional, operational and community outreach programs from around the world. Otteman accepted the award at the IFEA’s 70th Anniversary Convention & Expo in Palm Springs, California. He was joined by CEO of the National Cherry Festival, Kat Paye; Event & Recreation Management major and National Cherry Festival intern, Jayde Harnick; Event & Recreation Management graduate, Bethany Childs; and COO of The Parade Company, Jessica Kaminskas.

Congratulations to the entire RPL Department, faculty, staff, students, administrators and alumni for receiving this prestigious award.
