SAGINAW, Mich. – The Great Lakes Bay Region Mental Health Partnership (GLBRMHP) at CMU Health invites community members, partners, and advocates to attend its upcoming fundraiser, “Lifting Our Voices: Be the Light,” on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Horizons Conference Center.

This free event will feature keynote speaker Tess Kurik, director of The Liv Project and a suicide loss survivor, who will share her story and insights on mental health awareness, resilience, and advocacy.

Attendees will also hear a testimonial from a student and an administrator who recently participated in a Teen Mental Health First Aid cohort at Windover High School in Midland, sharing their firsthand experience and the program’s impact.

“‘Be the Light’ is more than a theme - it’s a call to action,” said Dallas Rau, director of the GLBRMHP at CMU Health. “It’s about showing up for one another, starting conversations, and creating a community where people feel seen, supported, and not alone in their mental health journey.”

While there is no cost for entry, registration is required and attendees will have the opportunity to make a voluntary donation in support of GLBRMHP’s mission to expand mental health awareness and access to care.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for organizations and individuals looking to support mental health initiatives across the region.
