Community Recognition Alumni Award
Adam Miller '98
Adam Miller, ’98, works on behalf of the people of Mount Pleasant as the youngest mayor in the city’s history.
Miller was twice elected to the city commission, and the commission has elected him twice to serve as mayor. He serves on the Michigan Municipal League Taxation and Finance Advisory Committee, the Council of Governments, and the Isabella County Agricultural Preservation Board. In addition to his official city government roles, Adam also
volunteers for the Mount Pleasant Area Junior Chamber of Commerce, the United Way Volunteer Center Steering Committee, and the Mount Pleasant Historical Society
At CMU he has been an active member of the College of Science and Technology Alumni Advisory Board, and he’s a member of the CMU Graduate Student Association.
Adam works as a professional sales representative for Janssen/Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Inc., and he has earned six top sales awards in 1999, 2000, and 2004. He left the company in 2001 to work for CMU as an assistant director of admissions and returned to pharmaceutical sales in 2003.
While an undergraduate student at CMU Adam was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma and the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternities. He was a campus ambassador, a student government member, and active in the ROTC student organization.
