Kenneth Anderson '11

Senior Master Sgt. Kenneth Anderson, U.S. Air Force aerial port flight superintendent, serves his country through his commitment to protecting and assisting others.

Kenneth, M.S.A. 2011, is stationed on Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. In his current role, he manages 140 personnel who oversee Aerial Port Operations in support of the movement of the United States President and Vice President, cabinet members, and other distinguished visitors who are airlifted throughout the Washington, D.C. region.

He is a four-time recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal, a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, and a two-time recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal.

A strong leader, Kenneth teaches the Air Force’s professional development courses in situational leadership, transactional analysis, and organizational norms. He was the logistics planner for the 2010 Nuclear Security Summit and the project officer for the 2010 Air Force Assistance Fund Campaign.

Kenneth is also the program manager for the Air Force Smart Operations 21st Century Program, which focuses on continuous process improvement. Under his guidance, during the fiscal year 2011, the program has cut costs by $10,000 annually and lowered the number of vehicle mishaps by 38 percent.

He’s volunteered many hours. Kenneth served as a committee member for the Special Olympics in Kaiserslautern, Germany; led a team of 18 military personnel to support 23 wounded veteran cyclists during the 2011 White House to Light House race; set up a clothing drive and coordinated delivery of 60 tons of clothes/goods to Afghans under the State Department Denton Program, and mentors more than 50 kids for Air Force and Navy Drug Education for Youth program.
