Adam '04 and Dr. Melissa '02 Bayne

Adam and Melissa Bayne's dedication and commitment to the Central Michigan University Volunteer Center have continued well beyond their years as students. Adam and Melissa have hosted Alternative Weekend groups, spoken at multiple events on campus to promote volunteerism after graduation, and were instrumental in the successful creation of the Volunteer Center Alumni Chapter at CMU.

 Along with fellow founding members, Adam and Melissa worked for years to help build a constituency chapter that has provided continued active citizenship opportunities for a number of CMU Alumni. They have also served on the CMU Volunteer Center Alumni Executive Board until their term limits expired but continue to provide guidance, assistance, and inspiration to the current board.  Adam and Melissa mentored many students when first elected to the CMU Volunteer Center Alumni Board.

Adam Bayne '04 received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University and his Masters in Educational Leadership in 2008 at Michigan State University West. Adam regularly provides leadership in his community through his role as principal of Holton Middle and High School by engaging with students, staff, families, and the community. Adam has coached multiple sports and advised many groups to foster individual and group growth of youth in his community including track, wrestling, cross country, student council, and the school leadership team.  Adam's leadership led the team to a Division 4 Wrestling District Championship.

 Dr. Melissa Bayne is an obstetrician-gynecologist at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Bayne received her Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry in 2002 and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 from Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She has served as a Clinical Preceptor for Central Michigan University Physician Assistant Students. Dr. Bayne is currently a member of many organizations including:  The American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologist, American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Osteopathic Association, CMU Alumni Board - Volunteer Center, and Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Obstetrics Quality Team.

 Adam and Melissa continue to participate annually in the Be My Neighbor Day event in Mt. Pleasant volunteering side by side with current students to share their experiences. Adam and Melissa currently reside in Fremont, Michigan with their three boys Jacob, Joseph, and Noah.
