Bowen Dou '07

Bowen Dou, MFA ’07, performs a crucial role for ESPN as an associate producer responsible for both the TV and Web presence of "SportsCenter."

She handles the creative development and production support of "SportsCenter" news updates, features and stories for both TV and the Web. She writes and produces news updates and produces features and live events.

Prior to graduation from CMU, Bowen was selected as one of 24 fellows nationwide by International Radio and Television Society’s Summer Fellowship Program for an internship at "NBC Nightly News" in New York City. Following her internship, Bowen was hired as a production assistant at "Nightly News," where she edited and helped produce more than 20 day-of-air spots for the Web site.

Bowen coordinated the historic NBC Redesign 2.0 Project, helping rebuild the "Nightly News" new studio and redesign the show’s template. She was known as the new generation journalist with traditional media skills and Internet knowledge. Due to her experiences in Web development and graphic design, she also was involved in designing the internal Web site Nightly News Design Center, as well as NBC WiFi logos and Web banners.
