Craig C Douglas '74, '80, '87
Craig C. Douglas, ’74 MA ’80 Ed.S. ’87, is an enthusiastically loyal alumnus of CMU and the College of Education and Human Services.
Craig serves as the superintendent of Carrollton Public Schools, and he also has been superintendent and an assistant principal at Oscoda Area Schools and a principal at Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Schools.
He was named Michigan Association of School Administrators Region 4 Superintendent of the Year in 2008-2009. He also served as president of the Michigan Association of School Administrators in 2008-2009.
Craig has taught graduate courses for CMU, visited education classes, and served as a professional resource for countless students in person and through e-mail. He has been an outstanding spokesman and representative for the university by quietly providing strong moral leadership by example to individuals, schools, and communities through responsible decision making and unselfish service.
From the beginning of his professional career, Craig has been an active participant and leader in his communities. He received the Spirit of Saginaw Award from the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce in 2003, the Family Youth Initiative Service Award in 2006, and the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Mid-Michigan Chapter of the American Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2007. In 2008 he was reappointed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm to the Michigan Higher Education Assistance Authority, a state education panel that oversees state financial aid options for college students.
