Mike Franckowiak '75 and Gay Ebers-Franckowiak '75
Mike Frankckowiak ‘75 and Gay Ebers-Franckowiak ’75 have been long time supporters of Central Michigan University. Their dedication and commitment can be seen in their annual involvement, volunteer work, and financial support for CMU. Mike and Gay have opened their homes on Beaver Island and at Pinehurst to host CMU alumni receptions. Outside of CMU, Mike and Gay support the Children's Aid Society and New York Presbyterian Hospital of New York City.
During his years at CMU Mike played football and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Mike was a member of the 1974 National Championship pision 2 football team and in 1986 was justly inducted into the CMU Hall of Fame. After graduation Mike was selected by the Denver Broncos in third round of the 1975 NFL draft and spent four seasons with the Broncos and Bills. He played fullback and kicked for Denver for two seasons, then played tight end and kicked for Buffalo for two more years. Mike was also employed by Morgan Stanley and Chancellor Capital Management and was a very successful stockbroker prior to his retirement in 2004. Today, Mike continues to make himself available to provide assistance to the CMU football program in a variety of opportunities as a guest speaker or coach.
Gay received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Central Michigan University and Masters of Business Administration from Adelphia University. While studying at CMU, Gay was a member of the Newman Club and Zeta Tau Alpha. Gay worked her way to being Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and Company and continued with much success until she retired in 2008. During her time at Morgan Stanley she was one of the highest-ranking females in the brokerage. Gay currently serves on the CMU Development Board, including service as a member of the Investment Committee and has graciously accepted an invitation to serve on the National Committee for the University's upcoming Capital Campaign.
Mike and Gay’s generous support can be found in multiple areas at CMU such as the Grawn Renovation Fund, the North End Zone Project, Football Championship Fund, the Events Center, Athletic Facility Program, and the Biological Station on Beaver Island. They are also members of the Friends of the Biological Station helping students and faculty members study and conduct research on Beaver Island.?
