Elyse Packard 2006, 2012

Elyse has had an extensive career in the world of cheerleading in the state of Michigan. During her years at CMU, Elyse was the captain of the CMU Cheerleading team for 3 years. She worked for the Universal Cheerleading Association for 12 years beginning with her freshman year at CMU. She would eventually become the Universal Cheerleading Association director for the state of Michigan. While working on her Master's degree in Counseling at CMU, she held an assistant coach position with the CMU cheer team. She later accepted the position as the Head Cheerleading and Dance Coach at Michigan State University, where she also works as the Undergraduate Program Director in the Sociology Department at MSU. Elyse is also the faculty advisor to the Undergraduate Sociology Association at MSU. Every year the CMU Cheer team honors one member with the "Packard Commitment Award", which is an award named after Elyse and is the only award named after a former member and coach.
