Dick Enberg CMU Alumni Commitment Award

Rodney L Crawford '77

Rodney L. Crawford, ’77, credits much of his success as a business professional to CMU, and he consistently gives back to his alma mater.

Rodney is a Centennial member of the Bell Tower Society and is a Warriner level member of the President’s Circle. He has served on the CMU President’s Executive Advisory Committee, the CMU Development Committee and the School of Accounting Advisory Committee.

In 2007 Rodney helped develop and introduce the Forensic Accounting Program at CMU and in the first year instructed one of the program segments. The Forensic Accounting Program focuses on the investigation of fraud in accounting practices.

Rodney’s generous support has helped fund endowed scholarships, the School of Accounting and the Arthur Andersen professorship. The Crawford and Winiarski/Rodney L. Crawford Scholarship in Forensic Accounting supports a junior or senior enrolled in the College of Business Administration who is pursuing a career in public and forensic accounting.

After graduating from CMU, Rodney continued his professional education through Financial Consulting Group L.C., the AICPA and MACPA, other professional organizations and Arthur Andersen LLP. He spent 25 years with Arthur Andersen, serving as an associate, manager and partner in the audit and accounting practice.

Rodney is the founding member and business partner at Crawford and Winiarski, a Detroit-based CPA firm specializing in forensic accounting. In 2004, Rodney was recognized with the College of Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year award.
