Allan L Schoenberg '90
Allan L. Schoenberg, ’90, has devoted countless hours helping CMU public relations students by speaking on campus and hosting students on professional trips to Chicago.
Allan works as an associate director of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, responsible for communication strategies to promote CME’s electronic trading platform and other technologies.
He has arranged annual trips to Chicago for integrative public relations students to visit top public relations firms, media outlets, and professional sports organizations. He has helped students who are seeking employment in the Chicago and Washington, D.C., areas.
Allan also visits the campus to speak to students. He was the keynote speaker for the Public Relations Student Society of America state conference at CMU last year, and he also often corresponds with students to answer their public relations questions.
He started a scholarship, the Allan Schoenberg Award, which is given annually to an outstanding integrative public relations student.
Allan is a member of a number of professional associations, including the American Management Association, the Chicago Council on Foreign Affairs, the Public Relations Society of America, and the American Marketing Association.
His nominator wrote, “What is remarkable about Allan is the amount of time he gives to the IPR students, whether it be arranging trips, coming to campus and talking with groups of students, or answering questions via phone and e-mail. He has become an inspiration to the students and is a proud CMU alumnus.”
