Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Aaron A Warriner '96
Aaron A. Warriner, '96 MA '98, has maintained his ties to CMU's College of Communication and Fine Arts while building his success in the corporate world.
While at CMU, Aaron competed in intercollegiate forensics, serving as an undergraduate teaching assistant and then pursuing a master's degree while coaching forensics and teaching a course.
In 2000, Aaron was named Employee of the Year at Valassis Communications Inc. where he worked as a leadership training specialist.
He serves on CMU's speech communication and dramatic arts alumni advisory board. He travels from the Detroit area to attend meetings, where he offers his advice about how to reach out to alumni, develop relationships, and help graduates remain connected to CMU.
Aaron also supports CMU's speech and debate teams. A forensics award is named after him ?? The Aaron A. Warriner Team Spirit Award ?? because of the team spirit he brought to the program as a competitor and coach. He comes back to help the college's invitational speech tournament each February. Aaron also has donated funds to the Speech and Debate Endowment.
He now works as a business support consultant for Consumers Energy in Royal Oak, where he is responsible for leadership training and change management projects.
