Central Michigan University President Robert O. Davies will deliver his 2022 State of the University Address at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium.

The address, titled “Our Tradition is Change,” is open to all members of the university community, alumni and supporters, and community partners. For those unable to attend in person, a live broadcast also will be available via livestream and archived on the Presidential Remarks and Communications webpage.

Davies said he will speak to how the university has rebounded from the COVID-19 pandemic stronger and more nimble than ever, a testament to the resilience and compassion of students, faculty and staff.

He also will discuss how the university is changing the conversation about what a college degree can and should provide to its students, emphasizing that CMU is a partner with students in a lifelong educational journey.

The address also will reflect on CMU’s tradition of adapting to the changing needs of students, as well as the university’s next strategic plan, Davies said.

Following the address, the president invites community members to attend an informal reception in the Powers Hall Ballroom.
