The University President regularly provides important updates on the university’s plans, priorities and progress to the university community and key stakeholder audiences. These messages can include the annual State of the University Address, legislative testimony, email and video messages to the campus community, and more. 2026 State of the University Address
Wednesday, October 28, 2026 @ 2:00 p.m. in Plachta Auditorium
President MacKinnon invites all faculty, staff, and students to the 2026 State of the University Address, an opportunity to celebrate the progress of the past two years, reflect on the defining moments of his presidency, and look ahead to an ambitious future for CMU. Seating is available in Plachta Auditorium located in Warriner Hall, and guests are invited to a light reception in Warriner Hall’s second floor atrium following the event. External guests may park in Lot 18 or Lot 27 without a permit. For those unable to attend in person, a live broadcast of the event also will be available via livestream. We hope to see you at this special occasion.
