A letter to recent graduates
Hello, CMU Chippewas, and congratulations on reaching your monumental milestone!
You have just joined the ranks of more than 245 thousand living alumni across the globe.
If you didn’t know, as a graduate, you are automatically a member of the Central Michigan University Alumni Association and immediately have access to everything the association offers.
Now that you have been officially welcomed to the Alumni Association, I want to provide some tips on being Fired Up Forever:
Proudly represent your Alma Mater.
Tell people where you went to college. Wear your maroon and gold in public. If you see someone wearing the Action C in public, say, “Fire Up Chips!” If someone says it to you, the proper response is, “Fire Up!’
Stay connected to the CMU Alumni Association.
Follow us on social media. Keep us updated as you move through your career and life. Attend alumni social, sporting, and/or networking events in your area and encourage your friends to do the same.
Come “home” for Homecoming, Alumni Takeover Weekend, or other occasions.
Stop by the Carlin Alumni House to say “HI!” (and grab some swag).
While in town, grab some food and beverage at your favorite spot.
Think about giving back to CMU in some way.
Give your time. You can help current students, future students, or other alumni in hundreds of ways.
Share your talent. Host an intern at your place of work, hire CMU grads, team up with a professor on a research project, or arrange a visit to impart your wisdom to current students.
Again, congratulations on your graduation! If you have any questions about your new status as a member of the CMU Alumni Association, please contact us.
I wish you the best with both your professional and personal aspirations. I know you will make us proud, become a leader wherever you land, and represent the maroon and gold in the best way possible.
Have a great day, a great life, and Fire Up Chips!
Best regards and 🔥⬆️,
