Utica: 24,011 votes

Digital Michigan Newspaper Grant Program
Central Michigan University’s Clarke Historical Library is pleased to offer an award to improve access to a Michigan newspaper. The funds will be used for:

Scanning and placing online up to 9,000 pages of a previously microfilmed Michigan newspaper

Microfilming, scanning, and placing online up to 4,000 pages of a Michigan newspaper

Applications for 2017-2018 will be accepted between September5 and November 3, 2017. In January 2018, up to five communities whose newspapers have been nominated will be encouraged to show their support by voting electronically or by mailing a Michigan picture postcard to the Clarke. The newspaper that receives the most votes will be selected and included in the Clarke Historical Library’s Michigan Digital Newspapers Database, found at
