Merit-based scholarships 
The following merit-based scholarships are available to incoming transfer students who have at least a 3.30 GPA and 30 transferable credits. Scholarships are awarded based on academic qualifications provided on the application for admission. No additional application is required. Students who submit a completed application for admission by November 15 are automatically eligible for consideration.

Nearly half of last year’s incoming class earned a merit scholarship. However, funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The application for admission should be completed by November 15 for priority consideration. 

Community College Honors Scholarship for Transfers​
$2,500 per year / $5,000 over two years
3.50 GPA and 56 transferable credits

Community College Transfer Recognition Scholarship
$1,000 per year / $2,000 over two years
3.3 GPA and 30 transferable credits​​
Complete your application for admission by November 15 for priority consideration.

Residence Life Grant for Transfers
Incoming transfer students with at least 30 transferable credits who elect to live on campus are eligible to receive a $2,000 per year Residence Life Grant. The award can be combined with one of the above merit awards and can be renewed for a second year. Your application for admission is also the application for this award. Disbursement of this award is subject to availability of on-campus housing.  

President's Award
If you are an incoming transfer student from outside of Michigan with at least 30 transferable credits and a 2.75 college GPA, then you are eligible to earn the President’s Award. Your tuition will be billed at the in-state rate. Your application for admission is also the application for this award. Funding for this award is unlimited and will be awarded to all who qualify. The President’s Award may be combined with the Residence Life Grant for Transfers and
