Scholarships for Michigan high school graduates
The Michigan Achievement Scholarship program is free money from the State of Michigan to reduce your college tuition by thousands of dollars per year. In fact, students who graduated from a Michigan high school in 2023 or later could receive up to $5,500 in the Michigan Achievement Scholarship. Send us your Final HS transcript (showing graduation date) via Parchment, and be sure to add CMU when you file the FAFSA every year.
Scholarship policy
- Recipients of the Transfer Centralis, Transfer Honors, Transfer Recognition, and Phi Theta Kappa scholarships require full-time (12 credits) semester enrollment. Recipients of the Transfer Online Scholarship require half-time (6 credits) semester enrollment. Renewal requirements for each scholarship into a qualifying future year(s) can be reviewed on the scholarships for continuing students page.
- Main campus, domestic students may receive either the Transfer Honors Scholarship or the Transfer Recognition Scholarship, but not both. Either Scholarship may also be combined with the Phi Theta Kappa Award. Domestic online recipients of the Transfer Online Scholarship require half-time (6 credits) semester enrollment.
- Estimated scholarships (i.e., outside agency) do not reduce the amount of tuition payable on October 1 and February 1. Students must make arrangements to pay for the total amount of tuition due to avoid a $100 late tuition fee and a $30 service charge.
- You may not receive a full tuition or tuition and housing/food scholarships with another merit-based scholarship.
