Application Process

We encourage you to apply six months prior to the start of the term in which you wish to begin at CMU. We grant admission on a rolling basis, meaning that we will admit students for the next available semester of study as applications arrive, but you may wish to apply even earlier if you wish to live on campus.

  2. Application fee
    The $35 application fee may be paid by check, money order or credit card. A fee waiver may be requested if you demonstrate financial need. Active​ or veteran members of the U.S. military may have their fee waived by submitting a photocopy of the Form DD214. Please contact the Admissions Office at​ for more information.
  3. Official transcripts
    Have your official transcripts sent directly to CMU from all colleges you have attended. If you have completed fewer than 24 college credits, you must also submit your high school transcript.

OPTIONAL: Provide us with any of the following additional information you would like us to consider while reviewing your application for admission. Materials may be submitted​ by mail or email​.

  • ACT or SAT scores (strongly recommended if you have completed fewer than 24 college credits
  • Letter(s) of reference
  • Personal statement
  • Extracurricular involvements and leadership activities
​Your application will be reviewed after the application form, fee or waiver, and all required transcripts have been submitted. We review your cumulative GPA, academic rigor or strength of coursework, and trend in academic records. An admission decision will be mailed to your application address three-to-four weeks after all materials are received.
