About the College of the Arts and Media

Drawing a storyboard

As a student in any College of the Arts & Media (CAM) program – from undergraduate minors through master's degree programs – you'll learn in an interactive environment, gaining valuable practical experience and knowledge of the latest technology and methods used in your chosen career.

Working alongside our dedicated and distinguished faculty, you'll build your skills and experiences with the opportunity to provide cultural programming, news, and various communication services to the mid-Michigan region. You can perform in concerts or theatrical productions, put on film festivals, exhibit your artwork, or deliver news and entertainment through CMU's award-winning student-run newspaper or television and radio stations.

Whether you pursue a degree in one of the disciplines or enjoy the benefits of University Theatre, the Art Gallery, WMHW/FM, MHTV, News Central, or university bands and choirs, CAM has much to offer to enrich your college experience.

College of the Arts and Media mission statement

We are a community of artists, scholars, students, and educators who advance knowledge through innovative research, enrich lives by exploring the beauty and power of narrative and the arts, and strengthen our communities by engaging issues essential to global citizenship.
