Printmaking

We add beauty to the world

In the printmaking area, our curriculum will provide you with a dynamic understanding of printmaking and how to do just that. We impart an in-depth appreciation of the historical techniques inherent to traditional printmaking studio practice while giving further insight into current issues in contemporary art practice.

Experienced faculty encourage creative and critical thinking, research, and experimentation in the studio setting. You will be regularly challenged to expand your understanding of two-dimensional image space and the conceptual, material, visual effects of their function in an image-saturated contemporary landscape.

You will be encouraged to look beyond the studio for inspiration to integrate poetry, music, science, and your own personal interests across disciplines.

You will find that the printmaking studio is a collaborative community where ideas and experimentation are in constant exchange. Printmaking instruction includes screen printing, relief, monotype, intaglio, lithography, and alternative processes.
