Media Hall of Fame - Lisa Yanick Litwiller

She did this while also doing daily journalism’s work of reporting, shooting photos and participating on investigative teams.

She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Central Michigan University in 2000 and went to work for the Mount Pleasant Morning Sun as a photojournalist. She later added the title of community engagement editor.

It was in that work that she used data and new technology to turn the paper’s online audience into a community. She later refined this work in two roles with Hearst’s east coast properties and the Center of Public Integrity.

She was hired to continue this work for Bridge Michigan several months after a cancer diagnosis. She died a few months later.
