Outreach Librarian: Nine-Month Review

The CMU Libraries recently signed transformative agreements with four journal publishers. A transformative agreement “transforms” the publishing process from the traditional subscription model to a new model in line with the open publishing model many publishers, libraries, and researchers are embracing today.

Introducing Mariagabriella Stuardi, Special Collections Cataloging Librarian at the University Libraries

The annual Book Recognition Event celebrates the creative and scholarly achievements of CMU book authors and editors. Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the University Libraries, the annual Book Recognition Event celebrates CMU authors, editors, illustrators, and translators.

Lee Parker, joined CMU Libraries on January 2, 2024. Lee as the new Instruction and Outreach Librarian. He will guide the library’s instruction efforts, including providing leadership for LIB 197, the library’s one-credit library skills class. He will also spearhead outreach to academic support units and other offices on campus in hopes of strengthening relationships and improving support for students.

1 North Study Room - Park Library: We are collecting student feedback about these plans to ensure the new furnishings will support students’ needs for the room. Stop by the 1 North study room to see the proposed design and provide your feedback by February 9, 2024.

If CMU delays opening or closes campus due to inclement weather, some library resources and spaces will still be available. We will post an alert on our website and social media channels about library access on these days.
