Interested in earning your Master of Arts in Communication from Central Michigan University? You'll find the information you need to make your decision and begin the application process.

Admission Requirements

  • Individuals who are interested in exploring communication in both scope and depth to enhance their careers in business, in government, in the non-profit sector, or as a step on the road to a doctoral program are invited to apply to our Master of Arts in Communication.
  • Applicants must have one of the following:
    • An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • A 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of undergraduate credit.
    • A 3.0 GPA in the last 15 hours of communication courses.
  • Applications for admission into the Masters of Communication program are evaluated on a rolling basis.
  • Applications for Graduate Assistantships are due March 15 for Fall enrollment.

Step 1 - Apply for Admission

Apply for admissions through the graduate school application. Instructions will guide you through the process, step by step.


Step 2 - Assistantships

Are you interested in applying for an assistantship?

  • If yes, apply through the Department of Communication Graduate Assistantship application. The deadline to apply for Graduate Assistantships is March 15 for the next academic year.
  • If no, you are all set.
