Undergraduate Audition Requirements
All auditions include:
- An audition with the private instructor of your area (see your specific requirements listed below).
- A piano skill assessment test (optional).
- A theory skill assessment test.
- An aural skill assessment test.
Interested in studying composition?
If you intend to pursue the Bachelor of Music degree in Composition, you must first audition and be accepted on a primary instrument or voice. During your first four semesters on campus, you will take MUS 107 | Craft of Composition and at least two semesters of MUS 158A | Composition Lessons. At the end of your second year, you will submit 3 examples of original musical compositions (scores and recordings) to the Composition faculty for consideration to the program.
