          Renewability Exceptions:

Some scholarships have renewability limits, requirements and expectations. Check your scholarship application form for:

          - Limits to the number of years or semesters that the scholarship can be renewed

This is your opportunity to tell your story. Here are a few ideas for you to elaborate on why you are deserving of a scholarship:

          Reflect on who you are:
          - Where did you come from?
          - What values do you hold?
          - How will this scholarship help you reach your goals?

Share a bit about your hometown and your family background:
          - Do you come from a large family?
          - Do you have other siblings that are in school too?
          - Are you from a single-parent household?

Elaborate about what kind of a student you are:
          - Do you have a job? How many hours do you work?
          - Are you a parent or a nontraditional student? How does that impact you?

Include details of who you have become at CMU:
          - How have you developed throughout your college career?

          Write about your volunteerism:
          - How do you give back to the community?
          - Why do you choose to do what you do?

          Describe your plans after graduation:
          - What is your plan after graduation?
          - What is the career path you envision for yourself?
