Carls Center Speech-Language Pathology Clinic

The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Clinic is committed to delivering exceptional speech-language pathology services to our community. Services are provided by undergraduate and graduate student clinicians under the supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists. Many sessions are observed by student clinicians as part of classroom learning, creating a rich educational environment. Our team of providers are not only leaders in their field, but also dedicated educators within our Speech-Language Pathology program. This unique blend of expertise and passion ensures that every client receives personalized, compassionate care of high quality. Our services include, but are not limited to evaluation and/or treatment of:

  • Language and literacy

  • Cognitive aspects of communication 
  • Social aspects of communication 
  • Communication modalities

  • Voice (elective and non-elective)

Augmentative and Alternative Communication Center

The ​Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Center is part of the SLP Clinic and delivers specialized services to supplement or replace speech using unaided or aided methods. We provide resources, evaluation, equipment access and programming, and therapeutic instruction for individuals who are unable to learn functional communication through traditional speech-language therapy. Under the direction of certified professionals, the AAC provides: 

  • Comprehensive, objective AAC evaluations for all ages and disabilities.
  • Evaluation reports appropriate for third-party payers.
  • Access to a full range of state-of-the-art communication aids.
  • Access to a variety of switches may allow persons with severe physical disabilities access to communication aids.
  • Follow-up recommendations and therapy to ensure the appropriate use of equipment.
  • Customized instruction programs for implementation by teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
  • Recommendations for the use of communication systems in vocational and educational settings.
  • Resource information.
  • Professional training, consultation, and workshops for families and health educational and vocational agencies.

Currently, we are not taking referrals. We will update you when we are able to provide evaluations again.
