Mobile Health Central (MHC) is a nearly 39-foot mobile health vehicle for research, preventative health education, and recruitment. Made possible through a generous gift from The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation in 2014, the mobile health clinic promotes interdisciplinary practice and education in underserved areas of Michigan.

Mobile Health Central is customized with:

  • Soundproof booth and equipment to serve as an audiology clinic for pediatric, vestibular, and cochlear implant service.
  • Multipurpose examination room.
  • Accessible design including lift and handicapped-accessible bathroom.
  • Storage facilities for vaccinations, medication, or blood.

Mission

Mobile Health Central strives to bridge gaps in services and increase access to care through collaborative partnerships by providing health assessments, screenings and referrals to underserved populations in Michigan. As an educational platform, Mobile Health Central seeks to prepare learners to provide patient-centered care, to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and to become culturally competent.

Give to MHC

MHC serves as an educational platform for our students in the College of Health Professions, where they have the opportunity to apply their education and put their clinical skills to work. Those studying to be physician assistants, physical therapists, athletic trainers, audiologists, health educators, and speech-language pathologists serve our communities with pride. Through our many partnerships, which include the College of Medicine, Prostate Cancer Understanding Prevention Screenings (P.C.U.P.S.), Isabella County Restoration House, City Rescue Mission of Saginaw, local high schools, Special Olympics of Michigan, Central MI District Health Department, and RISE Advocacy (Recovery, Independence, Safety and Empowerment), we are able to provide services to underserved populations throughout Mid-Michigan.

Thank you for your help and financial support. It is vital to assuring MHC can serve more communities in need through high-quality mobile health services.
