CHP Community Engagement

In the College of Health Professions we collaborate with the larger community (local, regional, national, and global) to exchange knowledge and resources for the benefit of all.

To cultivate a culture of meaningful community engagement that connects the College of Health Professions with communities, strengthens partnerships, enriches learning, and advances health and well-being.

Mission

The Community Engagement Committee promotes, supports, and celebrates meaningful engagement among the College of Health Professions, Central Michigan University, and our campus, local, regional, and broader communities. Through collaboration, recognition, experiential learning, outreach, and mutually beneficial partnerships, the committee works to strengthen relationships, enhance student, faculty, and staff engagement, and contribute to the health and well-being of our communities.

Awards program

Community engagement awards are presented to faculty, staff, students, and community partners who demonstrate meaningful community engagement and make a positive impact through service, outreach, collaboration, experiential learning, or partnerships with our campus, local, regional, and broader communities. Award recipients may receive up to $750 in recognition of their community engagement efforts. You can nominate yourself, a faculty member, staff member, or student whose work exemplifies meaningful community engagement.

Important dates

• October 31: Nomination deadline.
• November 1-15: Committee reviews nominations and nominee submissions.
• December 15:  Award recipients are notified.
• January 15:  Award recipients are announced.
