JNEP Course Plan

The Joint Nursing Education Pathway is a shared curriculum model to facilitate enrollment and completion of both the Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs within 4 to 5 years. 

Phase 1:  program prerequisites at CMU's main campus (47 credits)

• Courses required prior to application to Mid Michigan College with a grade of C or higher
  • ENG 101: English Composition I (3 credits)
  • Oral Competency (3 credits)
  • Social Science (3 credits)
  • Humanities (3 credits)
  • Math Competency (3-4 credits)
  • BIO, CHM or HSC 211 (3-4 credits)
• Courses required with a grade of B- or higher
  • HSC 215:  Human Physiology (4 credits)
  • HSC 214:  Human Anatomy (4 credits)
• Additional courses required prior to graduation with BSN, but taken during Phase 1
  • ENG 201:  English Composition 2 (3 credits)
  • STA 282:  Statistics (3 credits)
    
• Recommended electives to meet minimum of 120 hours for graduation with BSN degree taken during Phase 1
  • HSC 211:  Human Anatomy and Physiology (3 credits)
  • REL 334:  Death and Dying (3 credits)
  • HSC 201:  Medical Terminology (3 credits)
  • HPS 101WI:  Introduction to the Health Professions (3 credits)

Phase 2:  nursing program at Mid Michigan College (44 credits)

• NUR 103:  Mental Health Nursing (3 credits)
• NUR 150:  Pharmacology of Nursing (3 credits)
• NUR 151:  Assessment in Nursing (.5 credits)
• NUR 202:  Adult Health II (6 credits)
• NUR 203:  Family Centered Nursing (5 credits)
• NUR 204:  Adult Health III (6 credits)
• NUR 227:  Leadership in Nursing (2 credits)

Phase 3:  RN-to-BSN program online at CMU (30 credits)
