MSL 101 Introduction to the Army and Critical Thinking 1(1-2)
Introduction to officers' values, ethics, stereotypes, military service, customs, traditions, and fitness; addresses management of time, information, stress, and change. Prerequisites: None.
MSL 102 Introduction to the Profession of Arms 1(1-2)
Introduction to military leadership, briefings, writing, interpersonal communications, problem-solving, decision making, critical thinking, goal setting, assertiveness, counseling, and nutrition; explores Army opportunities and benefits. Prerequisites: None.
MSL 103 Introduction to Army Physical Fitness 1(0-1)
This course introduces individuals into performance, health, and physical readiness by providing education and training in performance of military exercises and physical fitness principles.
MSL 104 Physical Fitness 1(0-1)
Students participate in the U.S. Army's physical fitness program one to three days each week. The sessions build upon the fitness level previously achieved. Prerequisite: MSL 103.

MSL 201 Individual Leadership Studies 2(2-2)
Studies in personal well-being, self-development, problem solving, and decision-making; group dynamics, communication, and values and ethics; introduces team-building, leading, and assessing group actions. Prerequisites: MSL 102 or permission of MSL Chairperson
MSL 202 Leadership and Teamwork 2(2-2)
Continuing studies in self-development and team-building. Introduces group problem solving, planning group actions, risk management, diversity, persuasion, and the profession of arms. Recommended: MSL 201 or permission of MSL Chairperson.
MSL 203 Physical Training I 1(0-1)
Learn how to conduct and lead a military physical training session, integrating Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) into daily routines. Manage their personnel resources to maximize readiness.
MSL 204 Physical Training II 1(0-1)
Learn how to conduct and lead military physical training sessions, integrating Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) into daily routines. Manage personnel resources to maximize readiness. Prerequisites: MSL 201, MSL 203.
300 level courses
MSL 301 Adaptive Team Leadership 3(3-2)
Planning, leading, and assessing small unit actions. Studies in problem solving, training management, Principles of War, tactics, and warrior ethos. History and future of the Army. Recommended MSL 101, 102, 201, and 202 or Permission of MSL Chairperson.
MSL 302 Leadership in Changing Environments 3(3-2)
Planning, leading, and assessing small unit actions. Studies in ethical decision-making, military briefings, writing, power, personality, followership, diversity, group cohesion, and dysfunction. Prerequisite: MSL 301 or Permission of MSL Chairperson.
MSL 303 Physical Fitness Planning I 1(0-1)
This course focuses on plans and supervision of group training sessions that promote performance optimization by integrating elements of sleep, health, spiritual, mental, and nutritional behaviors. Prerequisite: MSL 204.
MSL 304 Physical Fitness Planning II 1(0-1)
This course focuses on plans and supervision of group training sessions that promote performance optimization by integrating elements of sleep, health, spiritual, mental, and nutritional behaviors. Prerequisite: MSL 303.
400 level courses
MSL 401 Mission Command and Army Profession 4(Spec)
MSL capstone. Planning, leading, and assessing company and battalion level actions. Advanced studies in staff organizations, training management, meetings, event planning, and counseling to improve subordinates. Prerequisite: MSL 301 and MSL 302; or Permission of Military Science Chairperson.
MSL 402 Mission Command II and the Company Grade Officer 4(Spec)
MSL capstone. Planning, leading, and assessing large unit actions. Advanced studies in officers' campaign analysis, ethical climate, task organization, Army missions, resource management, and leadership vision. Prerequisite: MSL 401 or Permission of Military Science Chairperson.
MSL 403 Advanced Physical Fitness Planning I 1(0-1)
This course aims to expand knowledge base by bringing in trained and certified professionals to improve the holistic health and fitness (H2F) system. Students will supervise PT planning. Prerequisite: MSL 304.
MSL 404 Advanced Physical Fitness Planning II 1(0-1)
This course aims to expand knowledge base by bringing in trained and certified professionals to improve the holistic health and fitness (H2F) system. Students will supervise PT planning. Prerequisite: MSL 403.

MSL 496 Leaders in Military History 3(3-0)
Examines the role of military leaders in the development of the United States from colonial warfare through the global war on terrorism. Prerequisite: permission of the Military Science chair because course requires access to ROTC Blackboard. Recommended: MSL 301 and MSL 302, and enrollment in Army ROTC; 26 hours completed or a declared Military Leadership minor.
MSL 597 Advanced Special Topics in Military Science 1-6(1 to 6,0)
Advanced studies in military science or leadership, logistics, administration, operations or history. May be repeated when the content is not a duplication of a previous special topics offering. Prerequisite: MSL 301, MSL 302, and permission of MSL Chair.
