Funds descriptions

Anthropology Research & Teaching Fund
Supports professional development, travel, conferences, etc. for both faculty and students, speakers, research costs, teaching expenses, etc. for the anthropology program.  

Karen L. Mohr Chavez Endowed Award
Established in honor of Dr. Karen L. Chavez, CMU anthropology faculty, who was nationally and internationally known for her research and archaeological expeditions. Dr. Mohr Chavez's passion and legacy is to inspire students studying anthropology and archeology. 

Kendall W. Folkert Memorial Endowment-66395
Established in honor of Dr. Kendall W. Folkert, former chairperson and professor in the Department of Religion. Dr. Folkert's research was in South, Southeast, or East Asian studies.

Friends of Anthropology Fund
Supports anthropology students enrolled in field school programs at CMU or other accredited institutions.

Leslie and Leonard Lieberman Scholarship
Established in honor of Dr. Leslie Lieberman, a specialist in family studies, and Dr. Leonard Lieberman, anthropologist, to support students studying anthropology, sociology, social work, or family studies.

Established in 2014 to commemorate the Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work (SASW) Department's 50th anniversary. The endowment supports international endeavors of students majoring in sociology, anthropology, or social work.
