Central Bound for students

Central Bound is your opportunity to stay close, go far, and earn your bachelor’s degree with confidence. This innovative partnership between Central Michigan University and our community college partners across Michigan is designed with you in mind—whether you're just starting out or returning to school to finish what you started.

With dual admission and co-enrollment, you’ll be part of both your community college and CMU at the same time. That means:

  • flexible, affordable path to your degree
  • Access to CMU resources and support from day one
  • seamless transfer experience when you're ready to take the next step

Whether you're balancing work, family, or just looking for a smart way to earn your degree, Central Bound helps you stay on track and graduate with a degree that opens doors.

Ready to be Central Bound? Your future starts now.

Enrollment options through Central Bound

Once you’re admitted to Central Michigan University, Central Bound gives you flexible pathways to complete your degree:

  • Start at your community college while admitted to CMU – You can take classes at your partner community college while holding active CMU student status. This option is available for up to seven semesters before you need to take a CMU course.
  • Begin directly at CMU – Take your classes through CMU from the start, using your partner community college only if you choose to.
  • Co-enroll at both institutions – Take classes at both CMU and your partner community college in the same term. (Be sure to review how this may affect your financial aid.)

Eligibility

Central Bound is open to:

  • Current CMU students
  • Students transferring from a partner community college to CMU
  • Prospective students applying to earn a bachelor’s degree at CMU or a degree from their partner community college
