Sleeping in the Mine Exhibition

Aug. 22 - Dec. 13, 2025

Join us in the Charles V. Park Library Baber Room Gallery for our new exhibition, Sleeping in the Mine by Mira Burack.

Sleeping in the Mine shares essences of tender familial hearts, fool's gold, sacred plants, ancient memories and wounds in the land. It explores the defunct Cunningham Hill gold mine adjacent to where the artist lives in New Mexico, and uses the site of the bed to bring intimacy to the challenging mining history, the environmental concerns and its long-term impact on communities.

Artist Talk: Oct. 8, 2025 6:30 p.m. Opperman Auditorium, Charles V. Park Library

Artist Reception following artist talk in Baber Room Gallery
