University Libraries video collection

The Library offers a collection of films, including DVDs and streaming options, to support academic needs. Faculty and staff can check out DVDs for 7 days, while students can borrow them for 3 days. With the decline in the use of DVD players, the Library provides films to be streamed through platforms like Kanopy and Films on Demand. The Library also offers viewing equipment and consultation services with media librarian Stephanie Mathson to assist with video content selection, licensing, screenings, and technical or legal concerns.

Loanable laptop program at CMU Libraries

To better serve CMU students, CMU Libraries now have laptops that can be checked out for 2 weeks at a time. Launched in August 2024, this laptop program has become a success.

Library’s board game collection is expanding

CMU Libraries, in partnership with CLGS, is adding 300+ board games! The collection, located on the 2nd floor, will be available for CMU students, faculty, and staff for two-week loans. Instructors can request games for classes by emailing cmulibraries@cmich.edu.

Children’s Literature Collection in the CMU Libraries

CMU and the University Libraries celebrates Black History Month with the theme “African Americans and Labor.” Events include a screening of "10,000 Black Men Named George" on Feb. 6, 2025, at 7 p.m. in French Auditorium, plus special collections on African American history.
