6th Annual Battle of the RSOs Raises $1500 for Local Organization

      by Logan Pellegrom

Central Marketing Society, a registered student organization within Central Michigan University’s College of Business Administration, hosted its 6th annual Battle of the RSOs last week.

The four-day event pitted students, faculty and staff members against each other to raise money for a good cause. The six teams participating in last week’s events were: Central Marketing Society, Alpha Kappa Psi, Society of Human Resource Management, Society of Women in Business, Future Financial Advisors Association/National Association of Black Accountants and the faculty/staff team.

Teams competed in a different activity each night, kicking off the week with an evening of mystery box skits judged by College of Business Administration Dean Chris Moberg, Development Officer Becky Walker and CMU President Bob Davies. Other events included a scavenger hunt, bowling, and a trivia night.

The winning team, Central Marketing Society, received a trophy and the ability to choose the charity recipient of the donation: the Isabella County Restoration House. This year, the event raised $1,500 to help families experiencing homelessness.

The funds raised come from donations made throughout the week, as well as the $100 entry fee paid by teams.
