Why did you choose CMU: The program has a strong reputation for producing great EM docs and the feedback I got from current and past residents really spoke to the program's dedication to quality resident education.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, Climbing, Canoeing, Working out
Favorite Things to do around Michigan: Spend time outside and explore the many beautiful places around the state.

Harpreet Grewal, MD
Medical School: St. George's University School of Medicine
Professional Career Interests: Working in a busy ER hopefully helping underserved patient populations
Why did you choose CMU: You are able to see a wide variety of pathologies and be a part of a well-established EM residency program where you truly run the show during resuscitations. You get to learn and master many procedures and by the end of residency, you are well.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: Spending time with my dog, exploring new restaurants and cities, traveling overseas, keeping up with the MCU, and playing board games.
Favorite Things to do around Michigan: Exploring all the different parts of Michigan including Mackinac Island, Pictured Rocks, Traverse City, and many more.

Why did you choose CMU: The reputation of the CMU program and hearing all the good things about Dr. Cowling.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: I love being on the water surfing, skiing, and boarding. I also love being on the slopes boarding and reading fantasy novels.

Why did you choose CMU: The hospital has a great mix of trauma and medical cases, with a large emphasis on procedural excellence. The area is perfectly located to enjoy a lot of what Michigan has to offer as well!

Why did you choose CMU: I spent a month here as a medical student and had a great experience! CMU offers a blend of rural and urban exposures, plenty of procedural opportunities and a faculty that is committed to developing excellent physicians.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: Skiing, running with my dog, backpacking, biking, and being out on the water with family and friends

Why did you choose CMU: I chose CMU because I witnessed the supportive faculty invest in their current residents and statewide/nationwide advocacy for Emergency Medicine. My interactions with the team during the social demonstrated fantastic camaraderie and care for one other all while having a laugh. Along with my wife, current OBGYN resident, I’m thankful to call this place home.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, running, biking, climbing, CrossFit, birding, making tasty food, reading books that people recommend.
Favorite Things to do around Michigan: Beach Day at Tawas state park or Bay City State Park, enjoying the greenery of the midwest (I’m from the desert of California), and Family Dinners with the residents.

Why did you choose CMU: A well-established program that produces excellent EM physicians. It’s a virtually unopposed program with high acuity and high-volume cases that provide great learning opportunities. The faculty and residents are very supportive, and the didactic and simulation curriculums are top-notch. Being close to my home city of Toronto, Canada was another benefit.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: 90s movies, board games, computers, podcasts, and petting dogs.
Favorite Things to do around Michigan: Spending time with co-residents, checking out coffee shops and restaurants, and exploring the outdoors and all that Michigan has to offer.

Why did you choose CMU: CMU offers a dream team where each member has so much to offer. The unceasing sense of deep connection and support for one another makes me feel like home. The teaching at CMU is unique and unparalleled, which helps me grow both personally and professionally. Not to mention, the sim labs at CMU are exceptionally amazing.
Personal Hobbies/Interests: Board games, hiking, biking, watercolor painting, and spending time with my family.
Favorite Things to do around Michigan: Visiting the scenic coastline along the Great Lakes is a must-do on my checklist. I look forward to exploring the arts and historical sites of Michigan. I am also excited for berry picking, visiting the cider mill, and making a trip to Mackinac Island.
