Online exercise classes for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation (2022)

Dr. Jamie Haines, in partnership with the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation led volunteer physical therapy students in offering online Saturday exercise classes for community members with Parkinson's Disease.  Read more about "Doctor of Physical Therapy Students Provide Online Exercise Classes for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation".

Administering COVID-19 vaccines in rural communities (2022)

Dr. Brookins-Fisher and Ms. Kimball-Christie, in partnership with the MidMichigan District Health Department, led public health, physician assistant and nursing students in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to residents in rural Mid-Michigan.  Read more about "Administering COVID-19 Vaccines in Rural Communities: A University-Agency Partnership".

Special Olympics health and wellness program (2020)

Dr. Naveen Sharma, in partnership with Special Olympics Michigan, led exercise and health science students in launching a Special Olympics program for adults with intellectual disabilities (SOMIfit), providing fitness classes and healthy lifestyle education programs to underserved special-needs athletes in central Michigan.  Read more about "SOMIfit: Initiating a Special Olympics wellness program in Mid-Michigan".
