Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics Plan Options

The Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (MSND) is designed to provide advanced training in nutritional sciences for new and experienced professionals. Our objectives are to enhance your knowledge base and expertise in the continually advancing field of nutrition and clinical dietetics and to provide you with the quantitative and methodological knowledge necessary to better interpret the scientific literature and nutritional research. Our MSND program provides three options, Options A, B, and C, for you to complete coursework entirely online. 

Plan A:  thesis option (option 1)

Plan A is 31 total credit hours and includes the following:

  1. E-portfolio
  2. Six hours of electives selected with the approval of your advisor
  3. An oral examination on the thesis topic

Plan B is 37 total credit hours and includes the following:

  1. E-portfolio
  2. Three hours of electives selected with the approval of your advisor
  3. An oral examination over course work, completed as part of NDS 799 course requirements

  1. Thirty-three credit hours of required courses
  2. E-portfolio
  3. Nine additional hours of electives selected with the approval of your advisor
