Those students interested in receiving a commission as a United States Army officer are eligible to earn two-, three- or four-year full-tuition scholarships. Moreover, those awarded scholarships receive up to $600 in textbook money each semester in addition to a $420 monthly stipend for living expenses. Learn more about the CMU Cost of Attendance.

Beginning in fall 2020, CMU implemented a new tuition award program, the U.S. Army Cadet Command (USACC) National Scholarship Incentive Award. This will allow CMU to be more competitive in admitting three-year USACC national scholarship winners into our Army ROTC program and to match other Michigan colleges and universities that cover freshman tuition and fees for the three-year scholarship winners. The award for the first 10 qualifying freshmen will cover the balance of fall and spring tuition and fees after all other merit-based institutional scholarships are applied. The Cadet Command awards three- and four-year scholarships to qualifying high school seniors.

To be eligible, students must receive a three-year USACC award, be accepted into CMU's program and also:

  • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester.
  • Stay enrolled in CMU's ROTC program.
  • Keep at least a 2.5 GPA.
  • Not enlist in any branch of the U.S. armed forces.
