Professional Career Interests: I hope to stay and practice Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Michigan. When I started residency I thought that the inpatient setting would be where I would end up. However, lately I have been coming around to the outpatient side of things and am starting to lean in that direction. Honestly, I feel I’m prepared to do either
Why did you choose CMU: CMU stood out as one of the most rewarding experiences I had interviewing while on the residency trail. I found that the people that make up the program are caring, welcoming, and genuinely interested in my wellbeing. The residents and attendings provide a variety of practice styles from which to learn from. There are also a wide variety of patients and clinical experiences that serve to build your abilities as a clinician
Personal Hobbies/Interests: Traveling (A lot of trips to the West Coast lately but I’ve been all over Europe and hope to visit Japan and Korea with my wife some day), Metal Guitar, video games, Saltwater Aquariums, LEGO, and watching hockey
Favorite Things to do around Michigan: I enjoy visiting my hometown in the Detroit area regularly to see what things have changed. There is a record store there that I like to visit as it always conveys a sense of home. Camping played an important role in shaping my imagination as a kid and so I try to join my family on trips whenever I can. Michigan beaches are always fun and there is a huge variety ranging from powdery sand to rocky shoreline
