Integrated Community Experience

The Integrated Community Experience (ICE) is a two-year program focused on supporting and enhancing the CMU College of Medicine's mission of providing doctors with community health and system-based clinical experience.

Within the first two years of the ICE initiative students are involved a service learning project with over fifteen (15) community based organizations who serve a diverse populace. These community based health organizations serve the elderly, the terminally ill, children, the economically challenged, and citizens with disabilities, substance abuse issues and counseling needs. This aspect of ICE introduces students to the vast benefits community organizations provide to patients throughout Mid-Michigan. Students are also provided exposure and knowledge through clinical work experience with physicians located in communities throughout the Mid-Michigan area.
