Accredited and certified continuing medical education (CME) for physicians and healthcare professionals has been ongoing in Saginaw for over 50 years.  Central Michigan University College of Medicine is proud to continue this tradition.  CMU College of Medicine CME is committed to fostering an environment rich in professional development opportunities that enhance physician life-long learning.

In 2018, CMU College of Medicine was awarded Accreditation with Commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) for six years as a provider of CME for physicians.  Accreditation in the ACCME System seeks to assure the medical community and the public that CMU College of Medicine delivers quality continuing education that is relevant to clinicians’ needs, evidence-based, evaluated for its effectiveness, and independent of commercial influence.  Achieving ACCME accreditation with Commendation places CMU College of Medicine into the top tier of all CME providers including many of the top medical schools in the US.

CMU College of Medicine CME offers joint providership accreditation as well as directly accrediting its own programs and courses.  CME administrative staff walk CME activity directors and planners through the accreditation process and partner with them to ensure that all content is of high quality, well-balanced and free of commercial bias.   “High quality” CME activities enhance skills, demonstrate educational leadership, promote team-based education, address public health priorities and achieve outcomes.
