Category 2 Credit
As part of continuing education requirements for Michigan physicians, the Board of Medicine has approved continuing medical education Category 2* credits for teaching medical physicians or the allied health services. The hospital or institution must approve the teaching in an accredited residency program and the board must approve all other hospital or institutional instruction programs.
Instructions
To satisfy this requirement, please complete the Category 2* Physician Teaching credit Claimed form for a specified time period and obtain an authorized signature or verification from either the Residency Program Director
or Medical Student Director. Submit a scan of the signed form to the CME Department at CMEDCME@cmich.edu or via fax to 989-746-7579. The CME Department will
enter your Category 2 credits into your online CME credit transcript.
*The State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) revised and condensed licensing requirements for physicians in December 2016 into two (2) categories, each with sub-categories. Those changes are summarized in a Lara January 2017 4-page document provided below as well as under Helpful Links.
