1. Application Deadline
The application deadline for our Fall 2014 SLP Program is January 15, 2014.
ALL applicants must apply using CSDCAS, an online application service. The student portal will launch on September 18, 2013, for the 2014 application cycle. Log on to CSDCAS to access the online appication. Prior to starting the application process, please read the FAQs and Instructions located on the CSDCAS web site. Log on to the CAPCSD web site to review our SLP Program Directory to insure you have met all the program and application requirements. Note: Three letters of recommendation are required, and two of the three letters required must come from CDO faculty. Also, we do not require a personal statement nor a program-specific essay.
2. Supplemental Application & Fee
ALL applicants are required to submit our Supplemental Application and Fee. Click here to save the supplemental application to your computer and complete it on your computer. Mail the application and fee to the name and address listed on the last page of the application.
3. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) - This is a new requirement!
ALL applicants are required to take the GRE, and your scores must be sent directly from ETS to CSDCAS. To insure your scores are sent electronically, provide ETS with our new codes: Institution Code/Name is 0742 Central MI U CSDCAS and the Department Code/Name is 0620 Speech-Language Pathology.
4. ECE, WES, or Josef Silney & Associates, Inc. (Course-by-Course Evaluation)
Coursework taken at international institutions (from non-English speaking countries) must be evaluated by ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.), WES (World Education Services), or Josef Silney and Associates, Inc. Official transcripts and an official course-by-course evaluation must be sent directly from the service to CSDCAS and to the College of Health Professions, CHP Admissions Office, HPB 1212, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48859. Canadian students are not required to provide a foreign evaluation; however, they are required to send to the College of Health Professions official transcripts.
5. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
All prospective students who are not citizens of a TOEFL-exempt country must submit a satisfactory test score on the TOEFL or IELTS. Score requirements: 79 or 6.5 on the TOEFL/IELTS for regular admission, 61-78 or 5.5 and 6.0 for conditional admission. International students are also required to submit to CMU an I-20 Affidavit/Statement of Support form, along with evidence of financial support. For more information, contact the College of Graduate Studies.
