Investing in our mission – College funding priorities
Thank you for your interest in learning more about our college’s top funding priorities—each represents an important opportunity to invest in the future of medical education and the health of our communities. Your generosity can help reduce financial barriers for future physicians, expand meaningful student research experiences, advance faculty scholarship, strengthen hands-on clinical training, and support the academic leadership that will guide our college into the future. Together, these priorities help us prepare compassionate, skilled, and innovative physicians who are equipped to meet Michigan’s evolving health care needs. Every gift, at every level, makes a difference. Thank you for considering an investment in our students, faculty and the future of medicine.
Michigan Physician Scholarship Initiative
Scholarships help prepare the next generation of physicians to serve Michigan communities, including areas with significant health care needs. Donor support can reduce financial barriers for medical students and strengthen the state’s physician workforce.
Summer Scholars and Student Research
Support gives medical students opportunities to take part in research with faculty mentorship. These experiences help students build research skills, explore questions that matter to health and medicine, and consider careers that combine patient care and scholarship.
Faculty Research Support Fund
Early-stage funding helps faculty develop research projects, gather preliminary data, and pursue external grants. Support can also strengthen student involvement in research and advance scholarship across the college of medicine.
Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine Research Symposium and Distinguished Academic Programming
Support helps showcase student and faculty scholarship through the CMED Research Symposium, including presentations, awards and invited speakers. It also brings distinguished scholars to campus for academic programming and discussion across disciplines.
Simulation, Standardized Patients and Educational Technology
Donor support strengthens hands-on medical education through simulation equipment, standardized patient encounters, and educational technology. These resources give students opportunities to practice clinical skills, communication and decision-making in a structured learning environment.
Endowed Chair for the Dean of Medicine
An endowed chair provides enduring resources for the dean of medicine to advance the college’s academic priorities. The fund can support long-term leadership in medical education, research and the college’s service to Michigan communities.
